Sunday June 22, 2008 The greatest polluting factor today is our imbecility. Listen to this. About two months ago, in Vancouver, BC, Canada, the "constructors" decided they should patch the asphalt on an old bridge named, "Patulo"--nothing wrong with that. Next, they removed 2 inches of asphalt for about 30 feet of road in both directions. Unfortunately, the "constructors" did "a good job", meaning, they cut the edges of the asphalt patch at straight, 90 degrees angles--by the book. The result was, for about three weeks there was a terrible traffic jam on that bridge. About 10 different lanes are converging on two bridge lanes. Previously, it took roughly 25 minutes to cross that bridge at rush hours time; during the "patchwork period" it was 90 minutes! Hundreds of thousands of loaded trucks and cars cross that bridge back and forth each day. The pollution was terrible, same as the useful time lost. Should the "constructors" had any brains, they might have cut the edges of the asphalt patch in a slow ramp, for two or three feet, and no car/truck would have had to slow down. In addition, whatever takes one or two days of work anywhere in the World, it is performed in three, four weeks--and even way longer--in Canada. You see, LOGIC stops right at the borders of CANADA. [Of course, the little example presented here is just one in a gazillion other similar examples of "Canadian ingenuity"--and not only.] THE TRUE POLLUTION Mr. G. W. Bush has started two, totally futile Wars, and he is eyeing impatiently at the third one. Hundreds of thousands of bombs were detonated in Iraq and Afghanistan, including many "projectiles" contained radioactive materials. All those fumes, radioactive particles, and dangerous chemical are in the air we breathe RIGHT NOW, ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Each time the "fighters" fire rifles or detonate explosive, when they set on fire oil wells, or when somebody burns car tires in protest for, say, "pollution", they pollute our VERY AIR irreversibly. It has been proven scientifically for a long time that the air currents may spread those terrible, harmful fumes in the entire World, in no time. Therefore that miserable War pollution is in our lungs, in our blood, and in our pockets because--Hey!--wars are costly. Somebody has to pay for all that dirt, and that somebody is certainly not our Dear (Oilman) War President. As mentioned, the most polluting factor is our imbecility. Take this "Democratic Culture": it is all just buying-selling all sort of miseries, all very nicely polished and perfectly box-wrapped, and all incredibly tempting! In the "developed countries" people perform "the buying act" a lot, though each little thing we buy means tons and tons of more pollution. Obviously, we do not try to suggest here that you should steal instead of buying. No. The point is, very many things we buy are not needed, or not good: consider, for example, the bottled water. Each of those nice, clean bottles of water means tons and tons of (extra) pollution. As for the bottled water itself, many times it is far more dangerous than the tap one. We love our cars and we strive to make them less polluting; though, still burning gasoline. Each of those brand-new, luxurious, shiny Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac, Lincoln, Lexus, etc. is a multiple, complex source of pollution. We were, and we are, able to change the gasoline engine for the electric one for about 30 years yet ... The houses in N. America are built out of ONLY cardboard, plastic, and plywood. They are incredibly cheap to build, although they are sold at 10, 20, 50 times more than what they are really worth. Anyway, the motivation is, those cardboard houses hold the warmth better than the real ones--built out of brick, stone, and cement anywhere else in the World, except in N. America and Japan. That is another lie. The problem is less in heating the house; the problem is in cooling it. During the summer time the consumption of power exceeds the producing capacity in N. America. A house built out of stone, intelligently, will maintain comfortable levels of both warmth and coolness without ANY energy consumption. In addition, "natural ventilation" requires absolutely no energy consumption, it is far more healthy, and it is hilariously cheap. Please step out of your house and watch your lawn, and your neighbours'. They look so nice, pictured perfect, all green, yet they are another enormous source of complex pollution--of course, everybody knows that but ... On our streets, the "vehicles" pour permanently tons of emissions, though not only. There is a "fashion" lately in in N. America for noisy vehicles having "doctored" mufflers. The noise is so loud and horrible you may think you live in Hell. On the other hand, those who are paid to enforce a decent, safe society do not hear anything. The Government employees--the best jobs anywhere--are deaf, blind, dumb, they cannot think, and they cannot do anything except for collecting REALLY FAT, SERIOUS SALARIES plus secure, advantageous RETIREMENT PLANS. All food in N. America contains minimum 90% genetically engineered products--that is another horrible pollution, in addition to poisoning us for generations. We haven't finished presenting the entire Global Picture about "genetically engineered food products"; what you are going to read in the coming News articles is ... Well, you will see. Finally, all those chemicals we use for houseware--air refreshers!-- janitorial, paints, plastics, detergents, fertilizers, insecticide, and many others, not only they pollute our Planet irreversibly, but they are not good for anything! We HAVE, and we KNOW means to replace all those infectious sources of pollution but, again, nobody cares. We like "it" shining in new plastics and well painted; we want to be in fashion with the latest "hot shots"; we fuss noisily around to show to the others we are soo important; and we buy-sell THE PRODUCTS while we talk about curbing pollution! Sure; why not.
